TO-FP polysilicate paint is part of the Termo Organika® thermal insulation system. It is intended for painting thin-layer acrylic and mineral plasters. It may also be used to paint mineral surfaces, e.g. concrete, cement, cement/lime plasters etc. and other surfaces, e.g. covered with paint, plaster-boards, wood-like panels, etc. External walls covered with TO-FP paint can be washed with water at low pressure using pressure washers.

Technical data

Temperature of application and of the surfaceabove +8°C
Drying timeapprox. 12h*)
Estimated consumptionapprox. 0.2÷0.3 l/m2 when painting twice**)
Estimated yieldapprox. 3.5÷5.0 m2/l when painting twice**)
pHapprox. 8-9
Storage: 12 months from date of manufacture, in original, sealed packaging, in dry and cool conditions. Do not store the palettes one on top of another. Protect against frost.

*)Depending in humidity and temperature. Low temperature and high humidity can make this duration longer up by several times.
**)Depending on the smoothness and absorbency of the surface.

 Preparation of the Surface

Every surface must be compact, smooth, load-bearing, dry, clean and without any film (grease, dust, etc.) which would reduce adhesiveness. Painting can start after:

  • approx. 3 days:thin-layer polysilicate and mineral plasters if the temperature during the application and drying of the plaster is at least +15°C,
  • 7-14 days: polysilicate and mineral plasters during spring and autumn time (the lower the temperature during the application and drying of the plaster, the longer this duration should be),
  • 14 days: cement and cement/lime plasters,
  • 28 days: concrete.
Treat absorbent surfaces (e.g. aerated concrete) with TO-GU universal primer or diluted TO-FP polysilicate paint, and non-absorbent and/or smooth surfaces (e.g. concrete, reinforced concrete) with TO-GP polysilicate primer or TO-GS contact primer (note: TO-GS contact primer contains very fine mineral filler and, consequently, the primed surface is not smooth but rough). Painting can start after the primer has dried completely (usually after approx. 24 hours).

 Implementation

Mix the content of the container thoroughly. The consistency of the paint can be adjusted by pouring in a little water (max. 10% to the first painting layer and max. 5% to the second one) and mix again. Apply the paint with a brush, a roller or by spraying method. Paint twice. Apply the second layer 4-6 hours after applying the first one. In order to avoid traces of joints on the different fragments of the painted surface, use paint from the same production batch and ensure uniform consistency. Protect the surfaces which are not to be painted (doors, windows, etc.) thoroughly to avoid splashing them with the paint. Rinse off fresh splashes with plenty of water. After it dries, the paint can only be removed mechanically. Do not mix the paint with other products. Protect the painted surfaces against direct exposure to sunlight, rain and wind by applying protective sheeting on the scaffolding. Do not leave the packaging open. After opening, use as soon as possible. During the work and while the paint is drying, the temperature of the surface and the environment may not be lower than +8°C.

 Caution

In addition to the above recommendations, follow good building practice and work-safety rules. The manufacturer warrants the quality of the product but has no influence on the manner, place and conditions of its storage and application. Building work should be done by professionally qualified contractors. The conditions for the preparation of the paint and method of its application may have an effect on the colour obtained, which may differ from the colour in the colour chart. Minor differences in the colour shade do not constitute a product defect.

 User safety

In case of contact of the product with eyes or skin, rinse them with plenty of water and consult a doctor. Keep away from children. During work, wear protective clothing and eye protectors.
