Preparation of the Surface
Every surface must be compact, smooth, load-bearing, dry, clean and without any film (grease, dust, etc.) which would reduce adhesiveness. Painting can start after:
- approx. 3 days: thin-layer silicone and acrylic, polysilicate and mineral plasters if the temperature during the application and drying of the plaster is at least +150C,
- 7-14 days: silicone and acrylic, polysilicate and mineral plasters during spring and autumn time (the lower the temperature during the application and drying of the plaster, the longer this duration should be),
- 14 days: cement and cement/lime plasters,
- 28 days: concrete.
Treat absorbent surfaces (e.g. aerated concrete) with TO-GU universal primer or diluted TO-FSG silicone paint, and non-absorbent and/or smooth surfaces (e.g. concrete, reinforced concrete) with TO-GS contact primer (note: TO-GS contact primer contains very fine mineral filler and, consequently, the primed surface is not smooth but rough). Painting can start after the primer has dried completely (usually after approx. 24 hours).
Implementation
Mix the content of the container thoroughly. The consistency of the
paint can be adjusted by pouring in a little water (max. 10% to the
first painting layer and max. 5% to the second one) and mix again.
Apply the paint with a brush, a roller or by spraying method. Paint
twice. Apply the second layer 4-6 hours after applying the first one. In
order to avoid traces of joints on the different fragments of the
painted surface, use paint from the same production batch and ensure
uniform consistency.
Protect the surfaces which are not to be painted (doors, windows, etc.)
thoroughly to avoid splashing them with the paint. Rinse off fresh
splashes with plenty of water. After it dries, the paint can only be
removed mechanically. Do not mix the paint with other products.
Protect the painted surfaces against direct exposure to sunlight, rain
and wind by applying protective sheeting on the scaffolding. Do not
leave the packaging open. After opening, use as soon as possible.
During the work and while the paint is drying, the temperature of the
surface and the environment may not be lower than +5°C.
Caution
In addition to the above recommendations, follow good building practice
and work-safety rules. The manufacturer warrants the quality of the
product but has no influence on the manner, place and conditions of its
storage and application. Building work should be done by professionally
qualified contractors.
The conditions for the preparation of the paint and method of its
application may have an effect on the colour obtained, which may differ
from the colour in the colour chart. Minor differences in the colour
shade do not constitute a product defect.
User safety
In case of contact of the product with eyes or skin, rinse them with
plenty of water and consult a doctor. Keep away from children.
During work, wear protective clothing and eye protectors.
